中央新闻纪录电影制片厂（简称“新影”）是我国唯一生产新闻纪录电影的专业厂，其前身是成立于1938年的延安电影团，有着光荣的历史。自1953年建厂起，它就以纪录影片的方式记录着共和国发展的历史进程。1993年划归中央电视台后，由以生产新闻纪录电影为主，转向以制作电视节目、译制片、纪录影片、影视剧并存的影视结合的生产模式，成为“中央电视台新影制作中心”。此后，在各级领导的关心和支持下，坚持以生产影视精品节目为中心任务，坚持电影、电视两条腿走路的方针，积极探索走向市场的发展道路，为最终建立新影自己的、覆盖全国的影视网络进行着卓有成效的工作。有着五十多年历史的中央新闻纪录电影制片厂正以雄厚的影像资料为品牌，以扎实的创作能力为基础，引进世界一流的技术设备，开发新的经济增长点，传承历史，开拓前行。

雄厚的影像资料

中央新闻纪录电影制片厂曾经被誉为历史上的“皇家摄影队”，在涉及共和国的重大活动、历史事件等方面具有权威的拍摄地位，诞生了大量共和国历史上最重要、最具有文献价值的新闻纪录片。现保存了约42000本胶片、42万分钟长度的纪录电影资料，已经成为共和国的历史影像档案馆。

这些影片真实地记录了辛亥革命、大革命、抗日战争、解放战争等历史事件；孙中山、毛泽东、周恩来、宋庆龄等历史伟人；解放区建设、土地改革、和平建设等祖国建设的历史脚步。资料内容涉及政治、经济、军事、外交、工业、交通、农牧、文教、卫生、科技、体育、地理风光、古迹名胜、民族民俗、戏剧、人物等各个方面。这些珍贵的影像资料成为百年中国的完整纪录。

除去已经制作完成的纪录电影，新影还有大量库存的影片素材。可以说，新影的影像资料具有极大的发掘潜力。

扎实的创作能力

五十多年来，新影的摄制队伍经历过解放战争的考验、朝鲜战场的洗礼，纪录下战火硝烟的卓绝历程；攀登过珠穆朗玛高峰，成为记载中国人首登珠峰的唯一一家影像媒体；跟随南极、北极科考队进入极地，留下珍贵的活动影像；完整记录领导人的每一次外事活动，成为共和国不可或缺的影像历史。可以说，在中国电影百年的历史里，有新影人用鲜血和生命书写的光辉篇章。

新时代对影视创作提出了更高的要求，新影的创作队伍继承传统、不断创新，一方面面向社会吸纳具有创新思想和创新能力的影视人才，一方面不断提高自身队伍的创作能力。目前，新影有在职职工近五百人，其中影视制作专业人员三百多名，有高级职称者近百人，具有硕士、博士学位的数十人。

建厂五十多年来，新影厂共有120多部纪录影片荣获政府奖、华表奖；44部纪录片获金鸡奖、百花奖；46部纪录片在国际上获奖；近60部影视纪录片获五个一工程奖、金桥奖、铜牛奖等奖项。

此外，新影摄制的《黄山观奇》、《百万农奴站起来》、《莫让年华付水流》、《征服世界最高峰》、《南极我们来了》、《周恩来外交风云》、《越过太平洋一一江泽民主席 '97访美纪行》等7部纪录影片入选《新中国舞台影视艺术精品选》。

近年来，新影厂出品的主要纪录电影有《周恩来外交风云》、《中国1949》、《国庆纪事》、《钢琴梦》、《走近毛泽东》、《小平，您好》、《灾难时刻》、《为了胜利》、《百年光影》、《又见梅兰芳》及数字电影《你好香港》等。

先进的技术设备

中央新闻纪录电影制片厂有较完善的影视制作设施和先进的技术设备。现有400平方米音乐棚、300平方米综合摄录棚、160平方米演播室及电影混录棚；有电视对编、合成机房，还有多媒体机房、非线性编辑机房、音频工作站机房，英、法、西文字幕译制机房以及电影摄、录、缩放等全套设备。

新影厂还引进了具有国际先进技术水平的胶转磁高清设备，其中美国REVIVAL图像修复工作站系统具有修复影片脏点、划痕、变色、图像抖动、乳剂脱落功能，此设备为新影厂首家引入国内使用；达芬奇校色系统主要用于校色，可对影片偏色、胶片退色进行校正，对广告和MTV画面进行特技变色处理；THOMSON胶转磁设备可将16mm、35mm影片转录为高清或标清磁带；美国AVID DS高清非线性编辑系统主要用于高清节目的编辑、包装、特技制作。

新的经济增长点

数字时代的到来，数字电视的兴起，促使新影厂选择进入数字电视领域作为下一步又一个重要发展方向。目前，新影厂开办了两个数字频道，《证券·资讯频道》和《老故事频道》。

《证券资讯频道》将依托电视媒体优势，在证券资讯与金融服务等方面，为证券用户提供更权威、更专业、更周到的电视资讯服务。

《老故事频道》是国内首家专业历史频道。《老故事频道》将以中央新影典藏的影像资料为核心节目资源，整合国内及国际历史资料和制作资源，倾力打造铭刻人类记忆的影像博物馆。

中央新影的发展思路是经营历史，包括经营历史留下来的时间和空间。经营时间是指用新影的影像资源办频道，做更多的电视节目；经营空间是指利用新影地理条件的优势建设现代化数字传媒文化中心。

中央新闻纪录电影制片厂在建立“学习型企业、技术型企业、资源型企业、拓展型企业”理念的指引下，产值利润连年递增。新影将继续遵循整合资源、经营历史、注重学习的思路，发挥新影的人才、资源优势，开发新的经济增长点、传承历史、开拓前行。

Central Newsreels and Documentary Film Studio

The Central Newsreels and Documentary Film Studio (Xinying Studio in short), is only such a film producer in China. Its predecessor is the Yan’an Film Troupe established in 1938. Since its founding in 1953, Xingying Studio has been following the advance of the People’s Republic with newsreels and documentaries. In 1993 Xinying Studio was put under the administration of China Central Television Station (CCTV). Its operation shifted from mainly making newsreels and documentaries to making TV feature programs, dubbed films, documentaries and movie and television plays at the same time. For this Xinying Studio became a “CCTVXinyingProductionCenter”. Ever after that, the making of movie and television programs has been the focus of Xingying Studio. The studio is actively exploring ways to expand its market and endeavoring to build a movie and television network that will cover the whole country. Xinying Studio, with its rich store of film data, a solid foundation for creation and world first-class equipment, is developing new points of economic growth and carrying on its fine tradition on its way of advance.

Rich Film Data

Xinying Studio, once known as the “Imperial Photographing Team”, enjoys an authoritative position for photographing current or historical events related to the People’s Republic of China. It has produced a large number of newsreels and documentary films of greatest importance and highest historical value. In its storage there are 4,200 film copies and documentary film footage for 420,000 minutes. Xinying Studio has become an archives of visual data of historical events that have taken place in the People’s Republic of China.

These film footages are records of such historical events as the Revolution of 1911, the First Revolutionary Civil War, the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the Second Revolutionary Civil War, of such great figures in Chinese history as Sun Yat-sen, Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and Soong Ching-Ling, of the construction of Liberation Bases, of the Land Reform, and of the national construction of China in peaceful times. Their contents encompass various fields of politics, economy, military affairs, diplomacy, industry, transportation, agriculture and animal husbandry, culture and education, medical care, science and technology, sports, natural scenery, historical sites, ethnic folklore, stage performances and people. These precious visual data are a complete record of China in the past 100 years.

Besides finished newsreels and documentary films Xinying Studio also has a great amount of source material. The studio has great potential to tap its visual resource.

Great Ability of Creation

In the past five decades, Xinying photographers have gone through the trials of gunfire during the Liberation War and the Korean War. Xinying Studio was the first Chinese filming medium to send photographers to go with Chinese mountaineers up to MountQomolangma (Everest). Xinying photographers also went with Chinese scientific investigation teams to the South and North polar regions and took precious photos of the activities of Chinese scientists. They are present in all the diplomatic events attended by Chinese leaders. Their visual records have become an indispensable part of the Chinese history. Xinying people have written a brilliant page of the 100-year-long history of Chinese film industry with their blood and life.

The new era has raised even higher requests for movie and television production. Xinying Studio endeavors to carry on its tradition, to make constant innovation, to find people with an innovative mind and innovative ability and at the same time to raise the creative ability of its present personnel. Among the nearly 500 employees of Xinying Studio, more than 300 are engaged in the production of movie and television programs; nearly 100 have senior academic titles and several dozen hold master and doctorial degrees.

In the past five decades, Xinying Studio has received the “Government Award” and the “Huabiao Award” for its 120-plus documentary films, the “Golden Rooster Award” and the “Hundred Flowers Award” for its 44 documentary films, several international awards for its 46 documentary films and the “Five-One Project Award”, the “Golden Bridge Award” andthe “Brass Ox Award” for its nearly 60 documentary films.

Seven documentary films of the “Marvelous Sights on Yellow Mountain”, “One Million Serfs Have Stood up”, “Don’t Let Your Youth Go Wasted”, “The Conquest of the Highest Peak in the World”, “South Pole, We’re Coming”, “Diplomatic Events of Zhou Enlai” and“President Jiang Zemin’s Visit to the United States in 1997” are included in the “Selected Works of Stage, Movie and Television Art in New China”.

The main documentary films Xinying Studio has produced in recent years include “Diplomatic Events of Zhou Enlai”, “China in 1949”, “A Chronicle of National Day Celebrations”, “A Dream of Piano”, “Approaching Mao Zedong”, “Hello, Xiaoping”, “At the Time of Disaster”, “All for Victory”, “100 Years of Film Making” and “Meeting Mei Lanfang Again”, and the digital film “Hellow, Hong Kong”.

Advanced Technical Equipment

Xinying Studio has advanced production facilities and technical equipment. They include a 400-square-meter music studio, a 300-square-meter comprehensive photographing and recording studio, a 160-square-meter television studio, editing and composition rooms, multimedia machine rooms, non-linear editing machine rooms, an audio-frequency working station, subtitle dubbing machine rooms for English, French and Spanish languages and complete sets of movie shooting, recording and pantographic processing.

Xinying Studio has imported “film-converting-to-magnetic tape” system of internally advanced level. The REVIVAL image repair work station imported from the United States can remove from the film dirty marks, scratches, color discolored spots, stabilize shivering image, repair the peeling of pellicleon the film. Xinying Studio is the first to use this foreign-made piece of equipment in China. The DA VINCI color checking system is mainly used for checking visual frequency, for correcting polarized and faded colors on the film and for color changing on the images of advertisements and MTV. The THOMSON “film-converting-to-magnetic tape” equipment can transplant images on 16mm and 35mm film tapes to high or standard clarity onto magnetic tapes. The AVID DS high-clarity, non-linear editing system is mainly used for the editing, packaging and processing of stunts of high-clarity programs.

New Points of Economic Growth

The coming of a digital era and the emerging of digital television have urged Xingying Studio to move into the field of digital television. The studio has opened two digital channels: the “Securities and Information” and the “Old Stories”.

The “Securities and Information” channel provides authentic and professional information about the stock market and financial matters.

The “Old Stories” channel is the only television channel in China broadcasting programs related to historical events. The main source of the “Old Stories” is the film data kept at Xinying Studio, supplemented by historical data from within China and abroad. The channel aims at creating an “image museum” of historical events imprinted on the memory of humankind.

The task of Xinying Studio is to put history on record, including the time and space left from history. The “time” here means that Xinying Studio will open more channels and produce more TV programs by tapping its rich film resource; “space” here means Xinying Studio will make better use of its geographical advantage to build itself into a modern digital media cultural center.

Guided by the concept of “building up a knowledge-type enterprise, a technology-type enterprise, a source-type enterprise and an expansion-type enterprise”, Xinying Studio has kept increasing its output value and profit year after year. It will continue to reorganize its resources, produce programs related to historical events, pay greater attention to learning new things, further tap its rich human and material resources, create more points of economic growth, carry on its history and expand its scale of production.
